| EFFECTIVE Diversity Management is about the environment serving the needs of the people! Across the developed world and the world in general unjustified discrimination on the various grounds quoted above are unlawful and unjustifiable as the result of international treaty etc.
In several jurisdictions such as the European Union, the United States of America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Hong Kong among others, there are also specific laws outlawing acts of discrimination.
The law recognises that “state institutions, large commercial organisations etc” are the main purveyors of unlawful acts of discrimination and in this context they are extremely powerful. They are powerhouses in the context of the numbers they affect and in the “weight” and “depth” of their effect.
Usually when we experience or hear of acts of

unlawful discrimination it is perpetrated by individuals and or groups “acting on the behalf” of the organisations they represent.
The law therefore seeks to curb acts of unlawful discrimination by organisations by placing a duty on them not to commit acts of unlawful discrimination in the discharge of their functions.
Therefore they must “comply with the relevant laws” in order to be “good citizens!”
To ensure that their “people” (and therefore the organisation they represent) do not commit acts of unlawful discrimination, organisations usually operate diversity management policies that “set appropriate” STRUCTURES, SYSTEMS AND PRFESSIONAL PRACTICE guidelines backed up by effective training that determine HOW “their people” discharge their various duties on its behalf in a non discriminatory manner.
This is approaching the ideal!
